Winter Engagement Session in Downtown Dayton
I am over here absolutely obsessing over this adorable engagement session in downtown Dayton. Winter engagement sessions are sometimes cold and dreary, but this one was anything but that. We began our session at Dayton Beer Company, who was kind enough to allow us to take a few photos while N & K enjoyed a couple of beers inside their bar area. The large windows let in lots of light, and they brew beer right there in the middle of the room- it looks really cool.
Winter Wedding at The Phoenix in Cincinnati
This day was a long time coming. C & Q pushed their wedding back during the uncertainty of 2020. After so much time planning and then planning again, it was so wonderful to finally celebrate their big day. The Phoenix was absolutely beautiful- the perfect venue for a winter wedding in Cincinnati. I am so excited to share a quick look from yesterday’s wedding at The Phoenix in downtown Cincinnati.
Winter Engagement Session at Wegerzyn Gardens
I feel like winter is sometimes the hardest season for planning engagement photo sessions. It’s often chilly, but there’s not always pretty snow everywhere. It’s hard to anticipate if there will be snow or not, and the colorful fall foliage has faded away. My go-to for gorgeous winter engagement sessions is choosing locations with lots of evergreen foliage and pretty structures. Wegerzyn Gardens definitely fits the bill.
Cox Arboretum Engagement Photos
Cox Arboretum is always at the top of my list for fall engagement session locations. This session was later in the season, in early November, but there were still lots of colorful leaves on the trees. We wanted to use the more natural landscapes as backgrounds for C & S’s engagement photos, so we opted to use the fields and trees in the park rather than the more formal gardens to get the look they had in mind.
Fall Family Photography Session at Grant Park in Centerville
This year I have been so lucky to photograph so many amazing families. I am so excited to share a quick look at this recent fall family photography session at Grant Park in Centerville. When Brandy first came to me with her ideas for her family photos, she said she wanted a light and bright bohemian look and definitely wanted to use a white building of some kind.
Sunset Engagement Photos at Oakes Quarry
Oakes Quarry is my absolute favorite location for photo sessions in Dayton. It has a distinct vibe, with lots of rocks and crystal clear ponds with blue water. When J & C wanted to have their engagement session at Oakes Quarry- I was so excited. Their session was at the end of October, and the weather was perfect. The skies were clear and we enjoyed the most beautiful golden hour for their engagement photos.
University of Dayton Engagement Session
I love a meaningful engagement session location, and when L & E told me they wanted to have their photos taken at the University of Dayton where they met, I was so excited. During their time at UD, these two lovebirds lived just a few houses away from one another. When the time came for Evan to move, he and Liz didn’t know what to expect, but felt sad that they wouldn’t be down the street neighbors anymore. As luck (or fate) would have it, he ended up moving into a house that was even closer, which neither of them anticipated.
An Autumn Engagement Session at Cox Arboretum in Dayton, Ohio
Fall is probably the most popular season for engagement sessions, and with good reason. The leaves provide a gorgeous color palette for outdoor engagement photos and the weather is usually pleasant. This recent engagement photography session at Cox Arboretum was definitely a favorite of mine. It was just a little chilly- the perfect weather to wear sweaters and cuddle together.
Wedding at the Cincinnati Art Museum
Yesterday’s wedding at The Cincinnati Art Museum was absolutely stunning. Shannon & Mike tied the knot in front of their family and friends in the courtyard of the museum- a beautiful outdoor ceremony space with the best natural lighting. There were so many great moments throughout the day, but one of my absolute favorites was when Mike first saw Shannon during their first look.
