Planning for a snowy photo session can be really difficult in Ohio. The weather changes so quickly and it’s hard to know if there will be snow or not. We were hoping for some snow for this winter engagement session at Cox Arboretum in Dayton. Although there wasn’t a heavy layer of snow on the ground, it did snow the whole time. It was so beautiful. Snow falling always looks great in photos. If you’re going to brave the cold for a winter engagement session, having lots of snow is definitely the goal.

If you don’t want to wear a coat during your engagement session- another great option would be to wear a cozy sweater and hat with warm under layers as an alternative. Scroll to the end to to see some of my favorite images with that type of cozy winter outfit. It’s such a great style for when you’re having your photo taken and it’s freezing cold outside. A huge congratulations to the future Mr. & Mrs.! I am so excited to photograph their wedding next spring!
