I am so excited to share this gorgeous wedding I photographed recently out in the mountain wilderness of San Diego. Samantha and Sean met through mutual friends, and are an amazing couple with a great connection. Samantha put most of the wedding together herself, using a purple and gray color scheme and lots of great rustic inspiration. There was no shortage of great personalized and DIY details at this big-day celebration!

Samantha & Sean put an amazing wedding together on a budget, finding some creative ways to keep things affordable. They found a gorgeous private estate available for rent in Pine Valley, CA that was able to accommodate their intimate wedding. So they were able to have more time at her venue, a great space for the bridal party and family to prepare for the event, AND save lots of money. They brought in The Red Oven for dinner-- which was incredible. They bring a mobile wood oven to your event, and cook amazing pizza with fresh ingredients for your guests. Seriously. It was awesome.

These two lovebirds also incorporated some really fun things into their wedding that were unique to them as a couple. Sean works at a brewery, and both are beer aficionados. They found a beer that would get more delicious as it aged, enjoyed a glass on their wedding day and sealed the rest to enjoy again in 10 years together. They also brought in Samantha's mother’s amazing quilts to decorate the space. They used them to cover the cake table, as the Photo Booth backdrop, and gave them to guests to keep warm when it got chilly in the evening hours. (Her mom has an incredible gift for being able to turn random scraps of leftover material into quilted masterpieces.) They also made their own Funfetti wedding cake- a classic that was a huge hit with guests.

There was so much great planning that went into making this beautiful day a success! Samantha and her friends and family worked so hard to put together all the great vintage-inspired wedding decorations. The couple figured out a great timeline to make sure they had enough time for everything throughout the day. We even got together for brunch before the big day to go over all the photography planning and details. They had plenty of time to get some great romantic portraits in their gorgeous wedding location because we left plenty of time for it!

Enjoy all the rustic & romantic wedding inspiration from this gorgeous San Diego DIY wedding! A huge congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.! Wishing Samantha & Sean the happiest ever after.
