Ault Park in Cincinnati is one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions. Hannah and Tyler decided to do their engagement session during the fall, and in true Ohio style- it was 85 degrees. That definitely didn’t stop us from getting some gorgeous photos. We had so much fun wandering around Ault Park and taking advantage of all the great backgrounds there.
The amount of Harry Potter inspiration incorporated into this bookish wedding was enough to make this book-lover swoon. Each table was numbered with a different chapter from a Harry Potter book and there were even flowers made from book pages. Their Star Wars and Harry Potter cake topper was amazing. They incorporated all their fandoms in the best way.
Recently I participated in the summer bridal open house at The Marmalade Lily, one of my favorite venues in the Cincinnati area. Engaged couples enjoyed complementary flower crowns to wear while they browsed the various wedding vendors in attendance. The food was nothing short of amazing, and The Marmalade Lily offered tours of their flower farm during the event.
On their wedding day, Megan and Brennan chose to have a first look to see each other for the first time before their ceremony. Brennan’s reaction was absolutely priceless. I have never seen a groom so amazed by the beauty of his bride. After spending a moment together, we set off for Wittenburg University to take a few photos with the couple and their bridal party.
Yesterday at Polen Farm, two of the most amazing people tied the knot on a perfectly sunny summer day. It has been nothing but rain in Ohio for the past week. The sun on the forecast for their Friday wedding was an exciting change of pace. Their sunflower-filled bouquets were exactly the right vibe. Rachael and Mason said ‘I do’ in the cool evening in front of all their family and friends at their outdoor ceremony at Polen Farm. Then they moved over to the barn to enjoy dinner and an evening of dancing.
This past Sunday on Deanna & Geneva’s wedding day, the forecast called for rain all day. As we all arrived at the venue, the rain just stopped; leaving us with a beautiful June evening to celebrate the union of two amazing people. One of my favorite moments from their wedding day was the first look. They opted to do a first look where they could both see each other at the same moment.
Saturday was absolutely amazing. Mike & Mathys tied the knot at a family owned farm in Dayton, Ohio. It was an amazing day filled with so much joy. The newlyweds traveled from San Diego to Dayton to celebrate their wedding day with all of their family and friends. They put together the entire day themselves, creating a theater inspired atmosphere with lots of colorful details. Each guest got some Mardi Gras beads, a nod to where Mike & Mathys met- the streets of New Orleans.
This recent engagement session at Ault Park in Cincinnati was an absolute dream. This spring was so rainy and our engagement session plans had been rescheduled a handful of times. We finally decided to outrun the rain and head to Cincinnati where the forecast looked sunny and pleasant. Our starting time was set for early in the morning to find the best light.
You guys!!! I am dying over this recent engagement session at Benham’s Grove in Centerville. Benham’s Grove is an adorable wedding venue that also allows engagement sessions on their property. It is truly such a beautiful place! Just at the end of our engagement session, the sun came out and we were able to get some photographs with the glowing sunset light. It was so perfectYou guys!!! Yesterday’s wedding was so completely perfect. After 7 years together, Cassidy and Zach tied the knot at the Dayton Art Institute in downtown Dayton. Every lavish detail came together for a flawless wedding day. They transformed the reception space with flowing white draperies, hanging chandeliers and amazing champagne decor.
Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous. Right in the middle of a rainy Ohio week we were blessed with a warm and sunny spring day. The most perfect day for a wedding. Katie & Ryan tied the knot at St. Joseph Catholic Church in downtown Dayton. Then we took a moment to venture around town and get some great photos at Riverscape Metropark and also outside of their reception venue- The Steam Plant.
This past weekend we photographed the most gorgeous wedding at Steam Plant Dayton. K & R began their day downtown, getting ready in the suites at their reception venue. They chose to have a first look together outside in the courtyard before the ceremony. After their first look, we stopped by Hills & Dales MetroPark for a few photos before the ceremony.
Yesterday I photographed the most gorgeous engagement session at Wegerzyn Gardens . Dayton really comes alive in spring, and everything was in full bloom. It was the perfect background for some spring engagement photos.
Recently Top of the Market hosted an open house and some of Dayton’s best wedding vendors came together to put together an amazing event. Top of the Market is an incredible historic wedding venue in Dayton, OH. They have two different ceremony and reception spaces. We set up a table in the upstairs event space for the open house.
Matt & Sarah met in college at the University of Dayton, where they will be tying the knot later this year. For their engagement session, they wanted to have their photos taken in Cincinnati- their current home city. The locations we used helped to tell the story and create a certain vibe in the photos.
Yesterday’s wedding at Grace Baptist Church in Cedarville, Ohio was so gorgeous. Just a couple days before this wedding day, a huge snowstorm swept through and covered everything in a generous layer of snow. We were able to get some great portraits in the snow after their church ceremony.
Last weekend the Hilton Garden Inn in Beavercreek, Ohio hosted a fabulous wine mixer for wedding vendors. The event was sponsored by Dayton wedding vendors who all donated their services to make the evening a success.
Engagement sessions are so wonderful. For me, it’s the perfect way to get to know a couple- not just their story, but how they relate to one another. M & B are amazing together. These two lovebirds decided to have their engagement session in Yellow Springs, Ohio. There are so many options for different looks just in Yellow Springs.
We will be at The Marmalade Lily’s upcoming bridal open house! Come see us! I love The Marmalade Lily, it’s a gorgeous flower farm venue & florist just outside of Cincinnati, OH. We will be offering some extra goodies to couples there. More details to come, but here are the show details so you can add it to your calendars!
This engagement session in Yellow Springs, Ohio was an absolute dream. S & B wanted to use some gorgeous variety that Yellow Springs has to offer. Since it was fall, we decided to combine some woodsy nature vibes with the central area of small town Yellow Springs(which has a kind of artsy village look with lots of interesting little nooks and crannies). We had an awesome engagement session and got a lot of different looks from just one location.
Cincinnati is a gorgeous city, and a perfect location for an engagement photo session. R & K decided they wanted to have their engagement photos taken in Cincinnati along the river at Smale Park. We set the time for early morning, so that we could avoid any crowds. The park was empty, the early morning light glowing, and we were able to wander around and take advantage of everything. Smale Park is a great riverfront location, with views of the Ohio River, the Roebling bridge and The Great American Ball Park.
This recent engagement session at Beavercreek Community Park was so wonderful. It was a blustery day, but C & A were absolute troopers. They were willing to get outside despite the crazy wind and rain to get some engagement photos. The resulting portraits were striking and dramatic in the best way, and I am so excited to share them.
I am so excited to share a quick sneak peek from this adorable portrait session I photographed yesterday out in Indiana. What an amazing location- this is actually their gorgeous property and I was so blown away with how beautiful it was! These are the luckiest kids in the world- they have so much space to run around outside and play! They also showed me their fort that they are working on and it was really awesome.
Yesterday I had the honor of being a part of Cassie & Taylor’s gorgeous fall wedding at The Marmalade Lily. Every detail was absolutely perfect. The Marmalade Lily is one of my favorite venues in southern Ohio. Their barn is completely updated and refinished, and is such a beautiful place to celebrate.
I recently photographed this adorable family photo session at Grant Park in Centerville, Ohio to announce the first official year I will be able to accommodate family portrait requests (which I am SUPER excited about- in the past I have only been able to accept a handful of sessions per year). My sister so graciously allowed me to use her darling family as models. I am so excited how these turned out. Her twins are the cutest, and they were so ready to have fun outside while having their photographs taken.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of celebrating with G & C as they tied the knot in front of their family and friends. They chose the Springfield Country Club as their wedding venue, and it was absolutely beautiful. Even though there was unexpected rain pretty much the entire evening, we lucked out and had just a little bit of a break in the clouds so we could get some gorgeous photographs of the bride and groom outside.
I am so excited to announce that I am now officially able to offer family photography sessions! Throughout the years, I have only offered family photo sessions by request, often from past wedding or engagement clients that were celebrating the growth of their families. Since we have moved to Ohio, my schedule has changed quite a bit and I am able to open up more session times. I can't wait to see everyones families grow!
I recently photographed a gorgeous intimate wedding at the Oakwood Municipal Court. L & M wanted to keep their big day simple, and stress-free, so they chose to have a small wedding ceremony. They said 'I do' in front of their closest family and friends.
Clifton Gorge is one of my favorite places to get outside in Dayton, Ohio. It has gorgeous hiking trails and lots of incredible landscapes. The woods there are so peaceful. I was so excited when Nikki & Alex decided they wanted to do their engagement photos somewhere in Yellow Springs, where they like to hike. This adorable engagement session in the woods at Clifton Gorge was so much fun.
